Accountants Congratulate Team Member on Long Service
A senior staff member at Bradford chartered accountants Watson Buckle has clocked up a significant milestone at the firm.
Mike Dolby, a senior in the accounts and audit team, joined the practice 30 years ago this month, after taking his A levels.
He became interested in a career in the financial sector during an initiative at his school offering “taster sessions” with professions including accounting, banking and quantity surveying.
Now, 30 years on, he has no hesitation in recommending other school leavers to follow the same career path. Mike says: “There’s plenty of variety in the work, which keeps it interesting – no two weeks are ever the same. I also enjoy the contact with clients, some of whom I have been working with since I started here.”
Mike has developed particular expertise in Sage accounting software and in areas including solicitors’ accounts, which have very strict and specific requirements.
