Accountants Celebrate Colleague’s Exam Success
A staff member at Bradford chartered accountants Watson Buckle has passed a significant milestone in his accountancy career.
Matthew Bentley, who joined the firm two years ago after taking his A levels, has just achieved the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.
Now Watson Buckle have given Matthew a three-year training contract while he works towards qualification as a chartered accountant (ACA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Matthew studied maths and accountancy at A level, which confirmed his interest in following a career in the profession. Now his work includes VAT returns, preparing accounts for businesses and audit work on limited companies..
He said: “Accountancy is interesting and challenging work – it’s not just about numbers, it’s about learning and understanding all the different aspects of how a business operates.”
