Watson Buckle secures housing group deal
Bradford-based chartered accountants Watson Buckle have welcomed social housing developer Firebird to their ever-expanding roster of clients after being chosen as the firm’s auditors.
Firebird was formed in 2005 by a consortium of five housing associations to develop new homes for rent, shared ownership and outright sale.
When the organisation decided to switch accountants late last year, they consulted the internet and were initially drawn to Watson Buckle by the high-quality information provided on their website.
They soon realised that Watson Buckle could provide them the personal service they were looking for, combined with the big firm expertise they were used to.
Firebird’s Kevin Batty said: “Before moving to Watson Buckle, we were with a top 10 firm and decided to look around because I felt that we were a small player in a big field and therefore price was disproportionate to the service we received.
“We didn’t want to use another big firm, but we did want big firm expertise. We found Watson Buckle on the internet, and we have been very pleased with the level of service so far.”
Mark Wilcock, from Watson Buckle, added: “We’re delighted to be appointed as auditors for Firebird, and are pleased that they have come to us, as a medium-sized local company, after previously being with one of the big accountancy firms.”
