Watson Buckle helps care home agency re-launch

Bradford-based chartered accountants Watson Buckle have recently added care home property agency Taylor National to their portfolio of clients.

Taylor National was founded in 1981 and was one of the UK’s most successful specialist property agencies in the 1980s, helping care home owners who wanted to sell their businesses.

After the firm was sold in 1989 co-founder Grayson Taylor continued to be involved in the industry, co-founding the DC Care Property Agency in 2002.

Now he has teamed up with DC co-founder Rachael Jolley and Hamilton Anstead, a former chief executive of Four Seasons Health Care to relaunch Taylor National at the start of the year.

Grayson said: “It is to all intents and purposes a new company, but we were lucky enough to be able to get the old Taylor National name back.

“The care home business is one of very few sectors at the moment showing a decent return on investments, and there are still plenty of buyers and sellers. The worry was whether the banks would continue to support businesses in this area, but so far lending is holding up well.”

Watson Buckle were chosen as accountants for the new business following a recommendation, and will handle payroll and tax issues, as well as being the firm’s auditors.

Watson  Buckle managing partner Chris Padgett added: “We’re delighted to be working with Taylor National and look forward to helping them grow their business in this expanding sector.”
