Accountants helping to kickstart recovery

Bradford accountants Watson Buckle is doing its bit to help the local economy out of recession by providing accountancy services for start-up firms under a new scheme from Bradford City Council.

The firm has been chosen as an accredited professional services supplier to Bradford Kickstart, a programme run by the council, designed to support the creation of new businesses in the city and help existing young businesses to grow.

It is hoped that local people will be encouraged to set up businesses under the scheme, with the council and partner organisations offering advice and support.

Support available to start-ups under the scheme includes advice from experienced business counsellors and support with financial, legal and employment issues.

Watson Buckle will provide accounting and bookkeeping advice to potential start-ups who fit the scheme’s criteria and been approved to receive support.

Watson Buckle managing partner Susan Sedgwick said: “We’re delighted to have been accepted as an approved supplier to this important programme.

“We’re well aware of the important role small businesses play in the local economy and if Bradford people can be encouraged to start up their own companies it has the potential to play a big role in helping the city out of the recession.”
